Penn Woods Classical Academy is a private, interdenominational Christian school offering a classical education grounded in a biblical worldview. Our mission is to train the mind, improve the heart, and nurture the spirit of every child.

Penn Woods is Pennsylvania’s first Hillsdale College Candidate Member School. Hillsdale’s K–12 Education office supports our administrators and teachers through ongoing training, curriculum guidance, and a national classical school network.

For the 2026–2027 school year, we offer PreK through 7th grade, with plans to grow one grade level each year through 12th grade.
- Grades 1-7: August 31, 2026
- PreK & Kindergarten: September 2, 2026
- PreK: 3 years old by September; Student must be toilet independent.
- Kindergarten: 5 years old by September 1st of the school year
- PreK AM: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- PreK PM: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Grades K-7: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

We use the Hillsdale College American Classical Curriculum, emphasizing truth, goodness, and beauty through time-tested classical methods.

Yes. Students enjoy daily music, art, physical education, and Latin. Grades PreK–6 have daily recess.

PA law requires public school districts to bus students from districts whose border is within 10 miles to our school. Current districts that bus include: Bethel Park, Canon MacMillan, Chartiers Valley, City of Pittsburgh, Montour, Peters Township, and Upper St Clair.
*Mt. Lebanon and Brentwood are considered walking districts and are not required to bus students.

We are now accepting applications for PreK to 7th for the 2026-27 school year with plans to expand by adding a grade level each year to 12th. Families may now submit their admissions application for 2026-27 school year enrollment via our FACTS web application.
