The Application & Enrollment Process

Create your account through the FACTS family portal. This will allow you to autosave your application and log out without losing data. (Our School Code: PW-PA)

Review Your
Application, Submit required documents, and Pay
Application Fee

Complete application and pay the application fee per each student.

Interview with Head of School and Submit enrollment packet

Both parents will meet with the Head of School for the interview. After successfull passing the interview, parents can complete their child’s enrollment packet.

FAQs

Penn Woods Classical Academy is a private, interdenominational Christian school offering a classical education grounded in a biblical worldview. Our mission is to train the mind, improve the heart, and nurture the spirit of every child.

Penn Woods is Pennsylvania’s first Hillsdale College Candidate Member School. Hillsdale’s K–12 Education Office supports our administrators and teachers through ongoing training, curriculum guidance, and a national classical school network.

For the 2026–2027 school year, we offer PreK through 7th grade, with plans to grow one grade each year through 12th grade.

Grades 1–7: August 31, 2026

PreK and Kindergarten: September 2, 2026

Kindergarten: 5 years old by September 1st

PreK: 3 years old by September; students must be toilet independent.

Grades K–7: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

PreK AM: 8:00–11:00 AM

PreK PM: 12:00–3:00 PM

Each day begins with Recitations, including the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, hymn, and a focus the monthly virtue.

We use the Hillsdale College American Classical Curriculum, emphasizing truth, goodness, and beauty through time-tested classical methods.

Yes. Students enjoy daily music, art, physical education, and Latin.

Grades PreK–6 have daily recess.

PA law requires public school districts to bus students from districts whose border is within 10 miles to our school. Current districts that bus include: Bethel Park, Canon MacMillan, Chartiers Valley, City of Pittsburgh, Montour, Peters Township, Ringold (contact Ringold for more information) and Upper St Clair. 

*Mt. Lebanon and Brentwood are considered walking districts and are not required to bus students.

Yes. Our uniform policy promotes focus, unity, respect, and a strong school culture.

Penn Woods is a device-free for K-6. Students do not use phones or smartwatches, allowing them to be fully present and engaged in learning. Students in middle school will use computers for purpose-driven research and to integrate computer literacy skills. Teachers utilize technology to enhance their instruction.

Families will provide lunch and snacks. Water bottles are provided, but students may bring their own water bottle.

Yes. Penn Woods is an interdenominational Christian school that affirms the Nicene Creed. Faith is woven throughout our curriculum, culture, and daily life.

Students may participate in music lessons (piano and guitar), with additional activities such as robotics, cooking, and athletics.

Parents and grandparents are welcome to volunteer in classrooms, the office, and during lunch periods helping strengthen our school community.

Yes. Generous tuition assistance is available through EITC and our Angel Fund, based on family income.

There is an application fee of $55 per student and enrollment fee of $100 per student. If you apply for Financial Aid then Facts charges $45 for the application. 

Penn Woods provides all school supplies except for a lunchbox or backpack.
