Careers

Thank you for your interest in career opportunities at Penn Woods Classical Academy.

What are we looking for in a teacher?

Penn Woods Classical Academy seeks teachers who joyfully embrace the active life of Christian discipleship and who are invigorated by the ongoing pursuit of wisdom and moral and civic virtue.  The ideal candidate is classically educated, trained in classical pedagogy, and has excellent rapport with children.  Deep subject knowledge in one or more of the classical academic disciplines including literature, history, science, mathematics, music, or art rather than a general education degree is preferred.  Additionally favored are applicants with teaching and classroom management experience.  Exceptions can be made if life experience and excellent mastery of subject matter is exhibited. (Second-career aspirants are encouraged to apply!)

As a Hillsdale College K-12 Initiative Candidate Member School, faculty will be provided ongoing professional development and training in Classical content and pedagogy and will connect with a nation-wide web of classical teaching experts.  Together with their peers, our teachers will be expected to continually strive for subject mastery while exhibiting outstanding moral and civic virtue.  In short, PWCA teachers will exemplify the characteristics of the graduates we aim to nurture.

Wondering if you’re a fit for our community of scholars?
