  • Liberal arts & sciences

Liberal Arts is the study of how to become an educated person (humanities), and is also referred to in the Trivium: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric.

Science is the study of natural world, its laws and phenomena, and also referred to in the Quadrivium: Mathematics, Astronomy, Geometry, and Music.

These ordered courses are taught at the proper time based on well established stages of intellectual, moral, and philosophical development.

A main idea of Classical Education is that teaching to develop the whole person: mind, heart and spirit in their formative years will naturally lead students towards mastery of robust, well-rounded content, developing discipline and skills, and cultivating virtue. In classical education, and, as a result of engaging, orderly, and joyous learning, students are capable of becoming so firmly grounded in knowledge, so practiced at applying wisdom, and so capable of understanding virtue that they will be equipped with the ability to triumph over the inevitable intellectual, moral, and social challenges that seek to derail their ultimate freedom in earnest Communion with God.
